NHS orthodontic treatment is available to patients under the age of 18 who meet specific criteria. Assessment is made using score criteria called IOTN (Index of Orthodontic Treatment Needs). Dental health reasons include protrusion of teeth, severe mal-alignment, crowding or congenitally missing teeth.

Many milder cases may not be eligible for NHS orthodontic treatment. In these cases we do offer a range of private self funded options for your consideration.

At your initial assessment, our specialist orthodontist will examine your teeth and jaws and record a number of measurements, including your IOTN to determine if you qualify for NHS orthodontic treatment. Treatments are carried out by our Clinical Assistants/Associates and Orthodontic Therapist under the supervision of our Orthodontic Specialists. We offer NHS treatment at Teethinline Newport Pagnell and Milton Keynes with appointment available between 9am and 3:30pm

Before we can see you for an orthodontic assessment, we need a referral from your normal Dentist setting out your problem and the reason for your assessment. The assessment is free and we will normally see you within 8 weeks of the referral; however NHS Orthodontic treatment here at Teethinline is subject to a treatment waiting list.
